Salmon’s Leap is situated a short drive, or about 20 minutes walk from Weymouth town centre and its historic harbour. Weymouth’s Town Beach is renowned for is fine sand and shallow water. A little nearer is Greenhill beach and gardens. Condor Ferries offer transport to the Channel Islands, and the terminal is an approx five minute drive away. There is a plethora of dining options, with many restaurants, pubs, bistros and takeaways. Around the harbour restaurants offer a range of menus of fresh locally sourced produce. The local shops are but a short walk away, with two large national supermarkets close by. These all provide cash machines, pharmacy and dry cleaning.
An open plan lounge/diner/kitchen is fitted with bifolding doors opening the whole of the lounge area onto the decking and outside seating. The lounge is furnished with a two seater sofa and circular dining table. A wall mounted flat sceenTV is fitted with integrated DVD player. Two thermostatic central heating radiators ensure the room is warm at all times of the year. Zoned recessed spot lights give plenty of light, with an uplighter and reading light.
A good sized bedroom is fitted with a glass fronted built in wardrobe offering ample storage and hanging space. The super king sized Zip and Link bed can be configured as a Super King double or as 2 full size single beds. All bed linen is provided, with beds made up prior to arrival. The bedroom has the benefit of a wall mounted television, thermostatic heating radiator and LED recess spotlights. A fully tiled shower room is fitted with a thermostatic shower and good sized enclosure, hand basin and WC, LED recessed spotlights, heated ladder rail and forced extraction with a good sized illuminated mirror. A bath and hand towel is provided for each guest, though guests are asked to bring their own beach towels. The kitchen is fitted with all integrated equipment, including fridge and separate freezer, washer/dryer, electric oven and gas hob. An ample provision of kitchenware, crockery, cutlery and glassware, with Champagne flutes provided for that special occasion. Bifolding doors give access to a large decking with outside seating. Adjacent to the decking is a small BBQ area, with kettle BBQ and some additional seating.
The property will have been cleaned before your arrival. If staying for more than 1 week a change of linen will be provided, with a light service.
There is a plethora of activities in the locality with many beach sports, sailing, windsurfing, diving, water skiing and fishing. Salmon’s Leap is close to Radipole and Lodmoor RSPB reserves. Weymouth is a gateway town to the World Heritage Jurassic Coast and offers easy access to some beautiful coastal scenery. Local attractions include Portland Lighthouse and Chesil Beach, Lulworth Cove and Castle, Durdle Door, Bovington Tank Museum, Monkey World, The Sealife Centre and Hardye’s Cottage. Weymouth and Portland hosted the 2012 Sailing Events from the National Sailing Academy in Portland.
